Dear Friends of Palmetto Bug Stomp,
It is with very deep regret and disappointment that the Charleston Folk Board of Directors has concluded we cannot realistically hold Palmetto Bug Stomp in 2022.
The fact is that we do not currently have a venue: very sadly, our excellent, long-term Park Circle venue is no longer available (unrelated to Covid). And, despite a great deal of searching, we have not yet been able to identify a viable alternative. So, unfortunately, even our local dances remain on hold at the moment while we continue to search.
In the face of this kind of uncertainty we felt it very unfair to ask our immensely talented PBS bands and callers to continue to hold these dates for us. We are hoping to re-book them for 2023.
When we return – and we will – we intend to exceed the outstanding experience you’ve come to expect from Palmetto Bug Stomp.
We look forward to seeing and swinging with all y’all again. In the meantime, please take care of yourselves and each other.
Sincerely,
Paul Mount, Chair
